Conference - Stress, Breathing & Mindfulness: Understanding to Take Action

YOU...

88% of managers, 70% of senior executives, and 61% of employees suffer from chronic stress at work (Centre Inffo / ADP Research Institute). This stress costs French companies between 2 and 3 billion euros annually in terms of absenteeism, presenteeism, and employee turnover.

Stress in the workplace is not just an individual problem—it is also a collective phenomenon with a measurable cost and a significant impact on performance. Yet, most initiatives remain superficial: a few general tips, wellness platforms, or rarely used apps. This conference takes a different approach to the problem.

You want to raise awareness of stress among your teams in a concrete, non-anxiety-inducing way.

You are looking for a high-impact intervention, even with limited time

You want your employees to leave with at least two or three tools they can use immediately.

You wish to approach the subject with a scientific, practical and non-moralizing approach.

Why choose this path?

A pragmatic approach that radically transforms your relationship with everyday life.

Understanding the mechanism of stress — what actually happens in the body and brain

Practice the physiological sigh and the 3 breaths — immediately, during the conference

Identify the 3 phases of stress (Hans Selye) and recognize where they are in the process.

Understanding the role of the vagus nerve and why breathing acts so quickly

Leave with at least 2 to 3 concrete tools, tested during the session

Anchor 1
Step 1 — Calm the body through breathing

Breathing is the only function of the autonomic nervous system that we can consciously control. By modulating its rate and depth, we directly affect the vagus nerve—the body's parasympathetic brake—and reduce cortisol and adrenaline levels. "Breathing creates mood changes, not the other way around." — Prof. Kraswnow PhD, Stanford, 2017.

Step 2 — Calming the mind through mindfulness

Once the body is stabilized, focused attention practices reduce the activity of the default mode network (rumination, mental noise) and strengthen the prefrontal cortex—the seat of decision-making and empathy. These practices are cumulative: a few minutes a day are enough to observe measurable effects within a few weeks.

The main themes of the conference on stress management:

* The 3 phases of stress according to Hans Selye — alarm, resistance, exhaustion — and how to recognize them

* What happens in the brain: amygdala, prefrontal cortex, and why we "lose our minds" under pressure

* The role of the vagus nerve — the body's parasympathetic brake — and how to activate it through breathing

* 4 practical tools:

- physiological sigh,
- 3/6 or 4/8 breathing,
- the 3 breathing techniques,
- concentration meditation (1-3 min)

* The concept of neuroplasticity and why it's never too late to change your stress responses
